Pastoral Carestries

Pastoral visits are available to attend to and deliver Eucharist to  shut-ins and parishioners who are recovering from recent hospital stays or long term illness.

Eucharistic Visitors (EVs) are chosen by the Rector and trained to take communion to shut-ins and hospitalized parishioners.  They take bread and wine that is consecrated during the Eucharist service, and the parish prays for the persons they are to visit. It is a way of including them in the service, even when they cannot be present. EVs receive specific training and are licensed by the Episcopal Church in Connecticut.

A note from the Chair on Pastoral/Eucharistic Visits:

"As a Lay Eucharistic Minister for Epiphany, I visit people to bring them communion, or just to bring support and friendship.

In order to do this more effectively, I need your help! I need YOU to tell me who would like a visit, with or without communion.

I also would love to have Epiphany members join me for these visits. Ultimately, it would be wonderful if we had some other members trained as LEMs.

Thank you for your input on our pastoral needs at Epiphany!"
